Saint Patrick's Day

Hi Everyone :) !

Domani, ovvero il 17 marzo, è la festa di San Patrizio, patrono dell'Irlanda. Non voglio fare la saccente, anzi, scrivo questo post proprio per imparare io per prima, di che tipo di festa si tratta! Da ignorantona quale sono (sapete che non si finisce mai diimparare), credevo che questa festa si celebrasse in autunno e fosse per un avvenimento accaduto nell'800 negli Stati Uniti. Ahah! Invece no...all'età di, ormai, 25 anni (il 20 marzo è il mio compleanno), ho appreso che non è assolutamente così!
Iniziamo dicendo che il 17 marzo è la festa nazionale della repubblica d'Irlanda; ma anche in Italia, Gran Bretagna, Stati Unita, Canada e Nuova Zelanda si festeggia. Il giorno di San Patrizio è stato inserito nel calendario liturgico dalla chiesta cattolica nel XVII secolo. Il Giorno di San Patrizio viene ormai festeggiato in quasi tutto il mondo e non più solamente da chi abbia discendenze irlandesi. Le celebrazioni sono generalmente incentrate su tutto ciò che abbia a che fare con l'Irlanda e il verde (simbolo dell'isola). In questo giorno infatti si suole mangiare cibo di quel colore e vestirsi della stessa tonalità. In particolare, sui vestiti ad esempio, non può mancare il trifoglio. La tradizione afferma che il santo spiegò la Santa Trinità agli irlandesi pre-cristiani proprio attraverso questa pianta a tre foglie. Di conseguenza vestirsi di verde il 17 marzo e il trifoglio stesso, sono diventati simbolo di quel giorno.

I'ma bit uneducated  (you know that you never stop learning), I believed that this festival is celebrated in the fall and it was for an event that happened in 800 in the United States. Haha! But no!!!!!At the age of 25 years (March 20th is my birthday), I learned that's not the case!
Start by saying that March 17 is the national holiday of the Republic of Ireland, but also in Italy, Great Britain, United States, Canada and New Zealand is celebrated. The St. Patrick's Day has been included in the liturgical calendar of the Catholic asked in the seventeenth century. The St. Patrick's Day is now celebrated in almost the whole world and not only by those who have Irish ancestry. The celebrations generally focus on everything that has to do with Ireland and the green (symbol of the island). For on this day it is customary to eat food that color and dress the same color. In particular, on clothes, for example, can not miss the clover. According to tradition, the saint explained the Holy Trinity to the Irish pre-Christian through this plant with three leaves. As a result of wear green on March 17 and the clover itself, have become a symbol of that day.
